About the Duo Founders
Dimorestudio was founded by Britt Moran and Emiliano Salci in Milan in 2003. It is a full-service, international architecture and design studio that works on residential, retail, and hospitality projects as well as creating furniture, textiles, and lighting ideas under the brand name Dimoremilano.
Dimoregallery, the atmospheric space that houses rotating works and collections by the great artists of the 20th century and current designers, is located at Dimorecentrale, the company’s new headquarters close to Milano Centrale Train Station.
Moran, a former graphic designer from North Carolina, and Salci, a former creative director from Cappellini who was born in Arezzo, Tuscany, are the ideal combination of skills.

The Brand
“The word ‘Dimore’ in Italian means dwelling but conjures up images of old villas clinging to their aristocratic origins. It lends the name a sense of nostalgia. I think it’s our DNA: we take a historical approach to a project to give it some roots, and then we inject it with more of a contemporary feel.” – Britt Moran – Dimorestudio
Projects by Dimorestudio
The many successful initiatives and relationships with well-known businesses are proof of the productive alliances. Additionally, their shared mindset serves as inspiration for their works. First and foremost, a respect for past great Italian designers like Gio Ponti, Carlo Scarpa, Max Ingrand, Angelo Lelli, and Gino Sarfatti, as well as certain modern artists who have adopted their aesthetic.
Additionally, they operate on the principle of mixing various hues, textures, and accessories for a really daring and dramatic result. Moreover, they have a sophisticated aesthetic that has come to define their style. Although Emiliano Salci wouldn’t exactly use the word “luxury” to characterize the creations of the well-known studio. The goal is to create a setting, a mood that “interprets memories and inspires dreams.”
The strategy used by Dimorestudio is to develop a narrative and an evocative environment that preserves the connection to the past, highlighting not only the distinctive characteristics that have made a certain object recognized over the ages but also bringing to life a particular atmosphere. Likewise, a world where the present and past slyly mingle. Their approach to creativity is centered on reviving the relationship with the past and discovering the historical components that are ingrained in a location and give it character.
