Founded in 1999, Scott Mitchell Studio has been growing nonstop ever since. The studio was created and is led by Scott Mitchell, whose design philosophy is influenced equally by his early encounters with antiquity, as by his relationships with architects Richard Meier and Charles Gwathmey, and by the work of Louis I. Kahn and Rudolph M. Schindler.

The Studio aims to produce buildings that are both humanistic and honest, expressing integrity and having a refined sense of style that transcends utility. #1 Holmby Hills, California

The house where this bathroom is placed was built to be experienced and felt, an interpretation of modernism that varies in textures, shapes and details, with a marvellous juxtaposition of materials that award it great luxury and no excess. Sumptuous, symmetrical, unique and very grey, the bathroom on display in this house is a statement on modernism and one that boasts incredible sophistication. Scott Mitchell truly outdid himself with this design.

#2 Malibu, California

This linear house that overlooks the Pacific is beautiful and incredibly elemental and raw. According to his website’s description, Scott Mitchell wanted people to “feel that we had come with a surgeon’s scalpel and inserted the mass into the land.” Open to a dazzling view and boasting a fantastically designed space, this bathroom is sure to make you never want to leave its warm bathing waters.

#3 Pacific Northwest, USA

Harmonious and modestly-scaled, this project by Scott Mitchell is comprised of an inner and outer layer of concrete, separately poured in forms, plus an inner layer of insulation. His open-concept bathroom filled with symmetry is beautifully built and designed and boasts tons of od natural light that will allow for incredibly relaxing baths. Truly unique and enchanting.

#4 Carbon Beach, Malibu

Located between the Pacific Coast Highway and the secluded Carbon Beach, this modestly scaled house has a shingled facade in common with many traditional American coastal homes. The bathroom and the general interiors were based and influenced by Japanese architecture, with amazing simplicity and a spa-quality to it.
