5 Splendid Ideas to Maximize Space In the Bathroom

If there was one room where all the space-saving advices are needed, it would be the bathroom.  Unless you have the luxury of being present for the design of the room from conception to completion, plumbing for the sink, toilet, and bathtub is pretty much set, what makes this space designing and decorating this space a bit tricky. Here are five tips to maximize space in the bathroom and make the most out of your resources

1. PERCEPTION – IT’S EVERYTHING

When it comes to making the most of your small bathroom, look for ways to make every inch of your space work for you. Keep an eye out for areas where items can be placed on the walls. Instead of bulky cabinets and drawers, select narrow, easy-to-install vanities and shelves, with plenty of storage space.

2. MIRRORS, MIRRORS ON THE WALL

Mirrors open up rooms by reflecting light and enhancing colors. While no additional square footage is actually added, mirrors give the impression of having more space. To amplify this effect, consider hanging multiple mirrors on your bathroom walls.

3- COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES

The bathroom is the perfect place to experiment with colors you may have thought were unsuitable for your home. Introduce lively hues like tangerine, pink or sunflower yellow into the room, or play with color schemes that complement each other— powder blue and white, for example. Remember, your mirrors will reflect whatever color you choose, so go for shades that illuminate your space.

4- WHEN IT COMES TO VANITIES, BE SMALL MINDED

The saying “good things come in small packages” rings true when it comes to selecting the right vanity for a bathroom with limited space. The key to choosing the perfect vanity relies on two basic principles: design and storage capabilities. If space allows, opt for a corner vanity that has compartments beneath the sink. If there is no space in the corners of your bathroom, consider pairing a stone countertop with a brass console stand. The open area under the sink allows you to place stylish baskets for extra storage.

5 – VESSEL SINKS: BIGGER DOES NOT MEAN BETTER

Limited space does not mean you have to compromise on personal style. Vessel sinks can mount flush against the wall or rest atop a vanity in the corner of the room. Depending on build and design, adding a small sink to your bathroom can be an easy and inexpensive alteration.
