Laufen is going once again to the incredible International Contemporary Funiture Fair (ICFF 2019) in New York City, from May 19th to May 22nd, to present their incredible bathroom collection designed by the renowned Spanish designer, Patricia Urquiola! The bathroom collection, also known as Sonar, is created in a high-tech and ecological ceramic material with the mission to combine luxury design and sustainable environments. In case you haven’t heard about his inspiring bathroom project by the renowned interior designer, don’t worry because the Luxury Bathrooms team is going to tell you all about it!
As you know, Patricia Urquiola innovative designs have won several international awards such as the “Medalla de Oro al Márito en la Bellas Artes” by the Spanish Government, “Designer of the Decade” by two German Magazines and “Design of the Year” by Wallpaper magazine, Elle Decor and AD Spain.
With the Sonar Collection, Urquiola wanted to challenge the fineness of SaphirKeramik by Laufen, which is a high-tech and sustainable material from the brand’s range. This innovative material features some unique qualities like extreme strength, lightness and slimness design which makes it perfect for the contemporary bathroom collection created by the renowned Spanish designer.
Patricia Urquiola enhanced the refined forms in the bathroom furniture collection with a three-dimensional texture to add a decorative sign to the innovative ceramic material. The thin and clean surfaces of Sonar bathroom furniture give rise to an innovative, sophisticated design that perfectly combines beauty and functional quality.
The Sonnar bathroom collection by Laufen and Patricia Urquiola features a freestanding single or double washbasin, a wall-mounted washbasin made with SaphirKeramik, a bathtub design in Sentec and a selection of wooden cabinets that complement beautifully the rest of the bathroom vanities. Inspired by sound waves that spread in water, the theme on the external walls of the basins runs vertically giving a nice tactile experience.
Thanks to its innovative design, the Sonar Collection was the winner of the iF Design Award in 2018, in the product category. Technology is a constant presence in Laufen’s bathroom collection, and once again, in this case, Swiss quality translates into painstaking attention to detail.
With an incredible collection like this one, you can’t miss Laufen‘s inspirational design ideas in their booth (151) located at Hall E!
